The Company’s daily operations are managed by a team of four newspaper professionals with substantial experience in newspaper publishing, as described below. Sam Hatcher is the Chief Manager and chief executive officer of the Company. Mr. Hatcher has been a veteran journalist and newspaper management executive for more than 30 years. He began his career in the newspaper industry as a sports writer for The Lebanon Democrat while attending college. Holding both a bachelor of science and law degree, Mr. Hatcher’s experience has involved all facets of the industry. He has served as a general assignment reporter, news editor, account executive in advertising sales and for 23 years served as the chief executive officer of The Lebanon Democrat. Mr. Hatcher is a past President of the Tennessee Press Association and has won numerous awards for news and editorial writing. He retired at the rank of Colonel in 2006 from the Tennessee Army National Guard and served as Chair of a National Guard Public Affairs Committee in Washington, D.C.. Mr. Hatcher is a member of the Cumberland University Board of Trust and a former Vice Chairman of that Board. | | | John Bryan is publisher of The Wilson Post. Mr. Bryan also has management responsibilities over the Company’s printing division and is directly involved with Mature Lifestyles Middle Tennessee. Bryan, a native of Wilson County, has been involved in newspaper publishing for more than 25 years. He and two other partners owned and operated The Wilson World before the newspaper was acquired by the Company. Mr. Bryan is regarded as an accomplished artist in advertising design and is considered an industry leader in computer technology. | | | | Kathy Beck is president of the Company’s operations in Florida. For more than 20 years she has served as a newspaper publisher. Under her leadership the four titles owned and operated by the Company in Florida have experienced an unprecedented growth in advertising sales over the past eight months. Beck has grass roots experience in newspaper advertising sales, management and publishing. | | | | Derby Jones joined the Company in 2006 and serves as publisher of the Williamson Herald. Jones also directs the Company’s packaging of the circulations of all the publications operated by the MainStreet Media in Middle Tennessee and other publications with which the Company shares an association with. Jones has worked previously with the Nashville Tennessean where he held a number of key positions with that newspaper’s advertising department over a 12 year period. He is the grandson of the late Carl A. Jones of Johnson City, a longtime respected Tennessee newspaper publisher and member of the Tennessee Newspaper Hall of Fame. |
